The Football team of Firenze is organizing the time table for the summer sport retreat: after the 3 year experience in in Cortina d’Ampezzzo, the team of Firenze will be in Moena from the 16th till the 26th of July and from the 29th of July till the 7th of August. Great choise!

Polartec Scufoneda: Freeride and telemark skiing at Hotel Arnika-Passo San Pellegrino
04-11 March 2012 – In the San Pellegrino-Falcade Ski Area, the Polartec Scufoneda is back. It’s a week dedicated to Freeride and Telemark organized by the “Scufons del Cogo” Sports Association, coming into its fourth edition.
These sports event is tied to skiing excursions to discover the Dolomites with Alpine Guides.There are telemark courses for kids, mountain safety courses, hikes, entertainment and parties, surrounded the colourful atmosphere that has always distinguished the Polartec Scufoneda. For years, telemark and freeride have been attracting top international riders to Passo San Pellegrino, to spend a week immersed in a 360° experience of the Dolomites’ natural winter beauty.
There are also two competitions scheduled, a freeride race on Saturday and the Absolute Italian Championship in telemark on Sunday, when national and international champions from both disciplines will be taking each other on.

The Hotel Arnika invites you to Pizolada, individual alpine skiing race
01 April 2012 - The thirty-six edition of the individual alpine skiing race that is part of the Italian Skiing Cup will take place as usual at Passo San Pellegrino.
It will be a full day of fun alongside the sports show. The protagonists are of course specialists in using sealskin, ready to compete on a difficult track of 18.3 kilometers. The track envisages a total 1840-meters climb, and starts off from the Flora Alpina refuge (in Valfredda) going on through Forcella Laghet (2765 meters of altitude), Col Margherita (2545 meters of altitude) and Forcella Vallazza (2521 meters of altitude).
Fans will have the chance to see the last part of the competition – including the final 500 meters on the slope that will determine the winner – without making any effort. All they will need is to use the cableway to get to Col Margherita.

The Hotel Arnika suggests Carnival in Val di Fassa
The Arnika Hotel in the heart of Val di Fassa suggests the suggestions of the local carnival in the Dolomites UNESCO.
The Carnival is the most characteristic cultural and folkloristic event of Val di Fassa; it is the beating heart of this small Ladin world whose colours and sounds are overwhelming. The Carnival is an ancient tradition relived year after year with the “Maschèredes” or comical performances featuring the most well-known traditional characters that that place in Penia.
Here the celebrations and evening performances begin with the Festival of San Bastian (St. Sebastian) on 17th January. But the Val di Fassa Carnival is above all a party, a chance to dress up, have fun and let go before the solemnity of Lent.
The locals love dressing up, putting on masks and traditional costumes and making fun of others. Carnival is inborn in local popular culture displaying a vitality that is perhaps the most distinguishing element. There are also the famous wooden masks, “facerès“, created by the valley’s most renowned sculptors and by many people passionate about intaglio.
The masks represent a way of expressing themselves. The Carnival spirit is embodied in the vibrant hues of the multicoloured costumes of “Bufon” and “Laché“, and in the wooden masks portraying the beautiful and the ugly, the good nad the evil, with just enough indifference to make fun without doing any harm.

The area is shared among the province of Trento, the community of Moena, the Moena police academy, Alpine rescue and the Lift Company and is equipped with appropriate signs, ARTVA approved gates, qualified staff who can signal avalanche risks, inadequate snow conditions or poor visibility; anything that might interfere with an enjoyable descent or timely rescue operations managed in collaboration with the State Police and Alpine Rescue.
It’s easy to get here! The starting point for the Col Margherita Freeride Experience is easily accessible with the fast Col Margherita cable lift. There are two rest stops: the Husky Bar at the top and Diametro 64 at the bottom of the lift facilities. Here friendly staff is happy to welcome skiers who want to stop for a nice break between runs.

The Arnika Hotel invites you to the sensational event in the Dolomites UNESCO.
Fassa Valley will host in Predazzo the Word Cup of Special Jumping on the skiis from the 3rd of 5th of Febraury. The hotel will give you a voucher for a free entrance into the Stadium. There will be a free ski bus service from the Passo San Pellegrino, through Navalge Place, till Predazzo.
